Why Sunflower Oil?

People often ask us why we produce Sunflower Oil?  At Kricklewood Farm we have chosen to cold press small batches at low temperatures Ontario grown high oleic sunflower seeds. We chose to process this type of seed in this method because it gives us the best tasting healthy oil. Kricklewood Farm Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil has a smooth buttery texture with a fresh nutty flavour. It is great on a salad, as a bread dipper, in baking and roasting. We call it the Canadian alternative to Olive Oil because you can use it in the same recipes and because of the sunflower seed we press it has the same healthy attributes as olive oil.
