We just completed the next stage in the barn renovation: a hay loft, feed room and chicken room. The west end of the barn was stripped down to the beams then a new floor was put down on top of a new load bearing wall, board and batten was put on the outside and a hay door was added up top. We did a half wall on the interior to let light and air throughout and wire up top to keep the pigeons out of the hay loft. There’s a hatch to toss the bales down into the feed room too. All in all, it turned out great! Next and hopefully last will be windows and electricity but that will be next year. The goats seemed to enjoy the extra attention from the guys and managed to get in a few photos too! For a long, boring album click here or on the photo above.
